9th Century Bells Exhibition
20 May – 28 June 2015
North Down Museum
For the first time ever, North Down Museum will be bringing together three important early Christian bells:
Although it is not known exactly who made these bells, it is believed that they were all made in the same area. This exhibition will be the first time they have ever been brought together since they were cast over 1,200 years ago!
Negotiations are now under way to bring up the Lough Lene Bell from the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin and the Cashel Bell from the Hunt Museum, Limerick for this unique exhibition. In addition, the museum will be displaying fascinating artefacts found during the 2011 excavation of Bangor Abbey (Read more . . .).
Museum opening hours:

- Sundays 12pm-4:30pm
- Closed Mondays.
